Well, I guess it could be disputed, but, FX would have to be in there.

True, things could always be better however on a whole I'd have to say it's not bad.

Decent equipment

Good pay

Health benefits could be better, but also could be worse, would be great if there were no premiums...

Another 1 1/2 yrs till 4 weeks vaca

Starting my fourth year with Averitt Express and glad I came here.
Mileage pay is a little behind some of the others, but health benefits are excellent. Disability insurance is paid by company too.
And we haven't had any pay cuts and still have our 401k intact.

I am one of the fortunate employees at fedex freight. My run is good. Many are not so fortunate because of short miles and dock work.

True, but it could be worse, just a few short weeks ago I was pushed back to the dock, which still was better than the alternative, unemployment.

Hopefully we've turned the corner and regardless of what other co's are doing things will continue to pick up.

We still have a few on the dock here and 2 displaced to another center (one of which wants to return).

Mercedes-Benz in Vance AL is a big account for us.
They suffered a big loss in business over the last year or so, just like the rest of the autumotive industry.
In the last few months, things are picking up noticeably. Not full blast mind you, but it'e starting to move again.
I hope this is a good sign for everybody.

Thats good news for you guys. Hopefully everyone can benefit by the boost in freight levels. What I would like to see is pro dockworkers on the dock and pro drivers in the trucks. It cannot be that difficult to do. We've done it before.

Thats not right. You need to be on the road moving trailers to spokes or hubs.
We can get dockworkers but its not so easy to get good drivers!

Saia has treated me well for the past 11 years. Im not sure id like the job as much doing the same job elsewhere. Good days pay for a good days work. Free insurance after 10 years...except the dental concession this year. Damned economy. Happy to be here, happy to be working, happy not to support additional yet unnecessary people (union personnel) with my wages.
