A driver gets pulled in for an inspection (true story) and gets a ticket for a chunk of rubber missing from a tire. Pretty common since the SHIT EQUIPMENT we pull has any different number of tires on it, ie, worn drive tires on trailers or on con-gears just to start with. The driver contacts FEDEX and tells them the ticket was written to him, not to FEDEX, FEDEX tells the driver you might have caught that on a proper pre trip. I guess I missed the part in the pre trip dvd that showed moving the unit up a foot or so to check the bottom of the tires. Or maybe it came off during the run somewhere. $ 84.00 ticket. PAY THE FUCKING TICKET DON.

Per Chris Keylon and Don Hinkle, "we don't do sets checks because it doesn't fit in the 30 minute window". News flash.........a PROPER DOT inspection is anywhere from 30-45 minutes. If we are going to start paying tickets out of our own pocket for YOUR shitty, cheap equipment then your 30 minute window is done, because we ALL will do PROPER DOT checks now. I can't afford to pay your bills. I bet a good lawyer could do something with this. Maybe the Cal. drivers ought to include this in their lawsuit.

belive it amigo... still haven't seen 1 pledge card to get the ball rolling. the union is moving just as fast as the company at addressing the issues that started with the transition a year and a half ago. both sides hold meetings and that's about it.

As of union cards being past out, not yet not ready. Still waiting for FAA to finalize certian issues.

Maintenance issues are a HUGE problem here. Remember the good 'ol days when the DOT left us alone and when they did do inspections they had to really LOOK for safety violations. I really enjoyed working for an outfit that cared about it's equipment and drivers.
