Man killed in forklift accident at shipping firm
A Rhode Island man was killed early Monday morning in a work-site accident, company officials confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
Emile Edmond Jr., a dock worker for shipping company Estes Express Lines in Seekonk, died as a result of an accident on a forklift that he was operating, according to Paula Evans, a company spokeswoman.
Edmondís family lives in Cumberland, Evans said. Itís unclear if he lived in Cumberland.
An initial investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration found the accident was caused by human error, Evans said.
An OSHA representative could not be reached for comment late Tuesday afternoon.
